Privacy policy
Updated 22 March 2026
This policy explains what personal data Aklen collects, why we collect it, and the rights you have under UK GDPR.
Who we are
Aklen ("we", "us") is a UK digital product studio. For privacy questions contact info@aklen.co.uk.
What we collect
- Enquiry data — name, email, company and project details you send through our consultation form or by email.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type and pages viewed when analytics is enabled (see Cookies).
- Consent record — your analytics preference stored in a first-party cookie so we can honour it.
How we use your data
- To reply to project enquiries and provide services you request.
- To improve this website when you have accepted analytics cookies (PostHog).
- To meet legal or security obligations where required.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use your enquiry for unrelated marketing lists.
Legal bases
Enquiries are processed under legitimate interests and, where you ask us to prepare a proposal, steps toward a contract. Analytics runs only with your consent.
How long we keep data
Enquiry emails and form submissions are kept for as long as needed to manage the conversation and any resulting project, then deleted or archived according to our retention practice (typically up to 24 months for unsuccessful enquiries unless a longer period is required).
Processors
We use trusted providers to run the site and deliver messages. That may include hosting (for example Vercel), email delivery (for example Resend) and, only after consent, analytics (PostHog, EU hosting where configured). Each provider processes data under their own terms and appropriate safeguards.
International transfers
Where a provider stores data outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability of your personal data, and you can withdraw analytics consent at any time via Cookie settings in the footer. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Children
This site is aimed at businesses and is not intended for children under 16.
Changes
We may update this policy when our practices change. The "Updated" date at the top will change when we do.
